Hi, I'm Chelsea Henry. I'm a UI/UX designer, illustrator, embroiderer, and gardener. I've been working in the professional industry for 3 years now, with 7 years of experience in design. I've worked for a small marketing agency, a back alley print shop, and on a small in-house marketing team (of 3 people) for a fairly large and fast-growing medical company.
As a kid, I had no idea that I wanted to be an artist. I thought I just liked doodling when I was bored in class. My teachers would scold me if I doodled in my notebooks, on tests, workbooks, etc. Pretty much anything you could think of, if I owned it, somehow I had customized it with my drawings, stickers, or calligraphy. I still didn't know what I wanted to be when I graduated high school. I thought I wanted to be a psychologist, and enrolled in the program at ULL. I took one year of these courses before realizing that I wasn't cut out for anything in the medical field and met someone on campus who introduced me to graphic design. This was the kind of work I loved to do. I fell in love with design, changed my major the next week, and never looked back.
In my free time, I'm the caretaker of over 80 plants and a little pug named Pixel. I enjoy gardening and giving my plants to my friends, family, and neighbors. I also run a small Etsy shop, ChelseasChalet, where I sell some of my illustrations (currently on a break while studying, but I plan to open back up sometime in June!).
